Mr. Gilkey has an M.S./B.S. in Electrical Engineering, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and 29 years total work experience. He has extensive technology and project/program management and business line management experience in the aviation and defense industry. Mr. Gilkey serves as a systems engineer and technical expert in the development of applications involving microwave radar, electro-optical/infrared full motion video, laser radar and other airborne sensors. These applications include automated object detection, tracking, characterization and pattern recognition, signal processing and sensor fusion for both manned and unmanned aircraft. He also leads technology trade studies and analyses to evaluation options in support of acquisition decisions.
Mr. Subr has extensive experience in image generation solutions, GIS manipulation and dissemination, distributed simulation architectures, and visual content development. Mr. Subr has spent the past 16 years supporting directorates at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH as the primary environment visualization lead. Mr. Subr has developed several well-known visualization-related products such as the SubrScene Image Generation System and the Virtual Battle Space Management System (VBMS). In addition to simulation tools, Mr. Subr has been the lead developer for several key simulations technologies that have direct bearing on the development of Virtual Reality Immersion. These technologies include visual scene engines, terrain mesh optimization algorithms, and scene management libraries. Mr. Subr has 10 years experience with RC aircraft flight and development. This includes flight instruction and aircraft model development testing. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Idaho.
Dr. Tom Hughes has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Systems Engineering, M.S. Experimental Psychology, and B.S. Industrial and System Engineering. Through his 31 year career, Dr. Hughes has worked to develop, refine provide instruction on methods to better understand and support the role of operators in highly complex socio-technical systems. As Technical Manager of an Unmanned Systems Group Dr. Hughes has worked in support of the Air Force Research Lab leading a team of 20+ human systems scientists, software developers, and operational subject matter experts conducting a broad range of research and development programs focused on developing advanced concepts for UAV ground control systems.
Bret R. Givens, PMP has more than 30 years of experience in software engineering for aeronautical weapon systems. Mr. Givens has a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering from Wright State University and his Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute. He served as the secretary of the Research, Development and Engineering (RDE) Forum for the Simulation Interoperability Workshop for five years, led the Dayton Area HLA User’s Group and served as the chair of the Dayton IEEE Computer Society for seven years. Mr. Givens recently established a community-based organization called the Dayton Ohio Drone User’s Group whose purpose is to promote the use of civilian drone technology for the benefit of humanity.
